Cruz would have had zero chance if it was not for shaming voting/ballots and SECRET counting in very overly-representative delegate states that eventually become the lowest electoral college vote states. He holds fringe marginal wins compared to the REAL election (w the exception of Texas).
Cruz’s 8 states vote totals (380K) is less than the population of WICHITA for crying out loud. He had the worst showing in Texas in 50 years. And if he didn’t have his staff of profiling schemers finding where he ‘may’ appeal to people, he’d been long gone. And if Ted wasn’t from Texas, he’d be at <5% of the vote and long gone. Too bad he’s got most of a huge Texas delegation. electors.
There is no reason why an ‘evangelical Christian’ wouldn’t have won The South, but Cruz got zilch. Southerners see through his over rehearsed smarmy pious demeanor. And if he can’t win Florida, Ohio, & Virginia plus the South, there’s no path to winning when it counts.
All he can do is cajole, bribe, deceive & coerce his way to Cleveland. Unless he’s planning on some major league cheating (computerized vote reversals) he can not win. And if he’s succeeds in doing this, you can be guaranteed the GOPe will back-stab Cheatin’ Teddy at the 2nd ballot.
Read some of the 57 delegation rules: many delegates are pledged through to the winner to the 2nd or 3rd round. And some delegations can DQ Cruz since he does not ‘qualify’ as an eligible candidate. el Cubano de Canada demonstrates how little he really regards our Constitution by even running.

My thots’, too. This week’s current issue of the Enquirer will drop some indisputable “facts” IMO. The Enquirer has just been waiting to see if Cruz would rebut it forcefully and then the Enquirer would show evidence to the contrary. Whereas Cruz is admitting nothing until he gets a gander at what the Enquirer has. If Cruz was smart, he’d acknowledge he’s been unfaithful, apologize, and eat humble pie. This might also protect some of the women from further disclosure.

No, if they have the dirt in hand, they will trickle it out for as long as possible. Jon Edwards / Reilly Hunter went on for months! They want to make $$$$. They always will not run risk being scooped by their competitors, though.
They will weigh the cost of sitting on the dirt and losing the story. When they decide, they may even give a person a “heads-up” courtesy call prior to the release. They did that for Palin, and she was forced to disclose Bristol’s condition & the father on the campaign trail. They contacted both families before the release.
And all the gossip papers work the same stories in coordination with on line blogs. They pay big tips for leads and buy information 24/7.
