Yep I remember Patty and Cathy and her boyfriend Richard and her brother Ross on the Patty Duke Show. Another piece of baby boomer nostalgia has passed on. RIP.
To: Borges
Her performance in The Miracle Worker was one of the most brilliant performances ever put on screen by child or adult, man or woman.

Loved re-runs of the ‘cousins, identical cousins’ show. And, her excellent The Miracle Worker performances.
RIP :(

I know she did a great deal of acting work (”Miracle Worker”, etc) but she was on “Match Game” a good number of times as well.

Hope it wasn’t a complication from a colonoscopy. The complication rate from those is much higher than people know. Perforation of the intestine happens.

This really stinks. I idolized her as a child. What a career! A great child actress who made it as an adult. A long time president of the Screen Actors Guild and an educator on the terrible scourge of bipolar disorder. She suffered greatly from that terrible illness. RIP Patty and Cathy!

You are absolutely correct. I remember that performance and it’s been a very long time since I say it.

While Kathy adores the minuet, the Ballet Russe and crepes Suzette,
Our Patty prefers to rock ‘n’ roll, a hot dog makes her lose control;
What a crazy pair!
But they’re cousins...
R.I.P. Patty. You made a lot of people very happy.

She certainly provided excellent entertainment to a generation. 69 yeas old today is too young. RIP, Ms. Duke.

My uncle had a perforation of the intestine in recent years.

Age sixteen when she gave one of the greatest performances ever filmed in
The Miracle Worker opposite a great adult star, Anne Bancroft. RIP from someone who at the age of twelve had an enormous crush on you, and your twin cousin.

They're dropping like flies ... boy, are we getting old.
Her son was Sean Astin of "Rudy" fame.
