I can’t see him running as an independent. He will probably endorse Cruz. Cruz has been stroking the libertarian vote. But frankly I’m surprised to see him endorse anyone so this is a major coup for whoever gets it.
oth Paul and Cruz are under McConnell’s thumb. He probably will endorse Cruz - as his masters tell him to.
I’ll say this: if Rand Paul endorses Trump it will forever brand him as a sellout to statism, and a traitor to libertarianism and the Constitution. Shouldn’t he at least hold out for someone who has actually read the Constitution before swearing to preserve protect and defend it?
I hope eh’s at least getting a substantial contribution toward settling his campaign debts, in the old-fashioned political favor swap tradition.
