Not good news. But it is a long way from Kasich to 1237. That’s a lot of arm twisting.
I don’t get it. TN went for Trump in a big way.
Hey! Cruz dudes! What we been saying, yo! The GOPe has no intent of voting for Cruz on a 2nd ballot if it goes down that way.
Delegates are directly elected in Tennessee. So many candidates have been burned here by not insuring they have a full slate of delegates before the primary so they can have them appear on the ballot. Since there is unlikely to be a winner on the first ballot, this is the first year it will really be an issue. If they cannot rewrite the rules, however, so far only Trump can have his votes count. Cruz might get to that threshold, but he is not there yet. No one else can have votes count.
We used to laugh when Saddam Hussain & every other dictator who would proclaim he received 100% of the vote. The US political system isn’t too far behind. They can call it whatever they want, but the people in power do whatever they want & the citizens are helpless to do anything.
If anyone thinks the GOP-E intends to give Trump OR Cruz a fair shake, please FReepmail me. I have some real estate propositions I’d like to run by you.
If Trump runs 3rd party, can the republican party win?
NO! So get cute with delegates and see what happens to the (Former) Grand Old Party.
There are believed to be other Trojan Horse delegates who will try to be selected to represent Trump/Cruz, but who will instead vote with the party establishment on rules and credentials, etc. to hurt Cruz and Trumps efforts at the convention.Could the convention change the vote requirements prior to the 1st ballot?
I guess Trump’s people are not so smart. They certainly do not know that there is more to a nominating campaign than flying around and holding rallies. The delegates that fill a convention hall every four years are 90% the same people each convention. They may be required to vote for Trump on a first ballot, but there is no allegience to him if he comes up short. If Trump loses WI there is no way he wins the nomination. If he is five votes delegates short, he will be tossed aside.
thanks for the info, don-o.
jjotto, ping to article.
The establishment is risking actual physical attack.
Lying, Cheating and Stealing is the ONLY WAY the Republican Establishment can win.
They cannot win at the ballot box so the worthless b@stards have to lie, cheat and steal to win.
If the Republican Establishment is successfully allowed to steal, cheat, and lie, then it will be a massive LANDSLIDE victory for the DEMOCRATS in November.
Say hello to President Hillary, and you can thank the Republican GOPe.
For the record if they successfully steal it, then I many people are now pledging to vote against Republicans at every level from local to national.
I believe these delegates are still committed to Trump and Cruz on the first ballot but would be free after that to do what they want, or what they agreed to do to be put on the slate, with no loyalty to Trump or Cruz.
