In that gathering, and at all others in recent memory, the vice presidential pick has been affirmed by acclamation. But the current rules would subject a vice presidential choice to the same nominating process as the presidential nominee: If there is more than one candidate for the office, a roll call vote of delegates is taken. However, the rules are often rewritten prior to each convention, so it cannot be known at this stage whether this procedure would be used in an open convention.

Meanwhile, there is no playbook to guide the proceedings.

With delegates being Cruz rich and loyal, it looks like Cruz would be the nominee VP, even if Trump stumbles in with 1237.

Trump would likely NOT (unless the rules changed) be able to get a VP pick through by acclamation.

You said earlier that you wanted a candidate to restore the rule of law. Does that include the Constitution and if it does, then how is Cruz the one to do it since he has to break the law to become president?

Was he born in the United States? NO

Were his parents residents in one of the States of the United States at the time Cruz was born? NO

Therefore, not being born in the United States and his parents not being residents in of any State of the United States, then at birth Ted was not a citizen of the United States because there was no possibility of him being a citizen of any one of the states of the United States.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside.

Ted resided in Canada, therefore, he is a natural born Canadian. Geez, you'd think a supposed constitutional scholar could at least read the PLAIN language of the Constitution.

It’s weird alright. Hannity read it live on the air, saying it was from the Trump campaign, with no further information. One would hope he would have checked it out.

I am often truly amazed at the stupidity of your typical GOP voter. They almost always vote the way they are told to vote by the establishment and it's propagandists in the media. The one exception was Reagan. And that was only because Jimmy sucked so bad no one could stand him any longer.

We have one chance and only one chance to keep our constitutional republic for a little while longer and that is voting Trump. Every other candidate is a globalist that will sell out our sovereignty with unconstitutional trade deals. The uniparty, has done it before NAFTA, WTO and they will do it again, TPP.

Ted Cruz is fully on board with the globalist plan to replace our constitution republic with a depentent North American Union. His wife Heidi help write the CFR plan to do just that. Ted Cruz was the leader in the Senate for passing TPA and TPP. He ever wrote an op-ed in the WSJ urging congress to pass the unconstitutional trade deal. Anyone that can't not see Cruz is a globalist is intentionally blind.

Ted Cruz is also pro amnesty as long as there is no pathway to citizenship. However that is a con since Cruz knows full well that the courts not to mention the Rats will provide a pathway to citizenship at the first opportunity should Cruz get his amnesty.

Ted also supports the neocon nation building wars. Once again he is GOPer.

Well I hope you Cruzers are happy voting for an anti-American globalist. Should Ted get the nomination he likely loses to Hillary but even if elected there is not a lot of difference between Hillary and Ted so either way the globalists win. The only positive is that Ted would appoint more moderate judges than Hillary. While that doesn't mean much in the long run it might be enough to get Ted a few more votes in the general. But in the long run we still get over run by illegals, we still wage senseless wars and we still get gobbled up globalists intent on implementing their NWO. Or we could vote Trump.

I am going to sleep well tonight...and here after......Cruz has already written off NY. He’ll concede it to Trump and use his organization to get delegates in states outside the Liberal N. East....with the one exception of maybe Pa. where he’s done exceptionally well courting the delegates..who are unbound.

His wife is an open borders proponent; we know that. He’s been running for President since the day he won his senate seat. Two years ago everyone knew who would run; Bush, Rubio, Walker, etc.. The only lane he had was the far right and his every move from that day forward was to build up his creds. That’s why he is so disliked in the senate. The whole ObamaCare deal was all for show

Well, CGato, if I were truly certain that Trump was a conservative interested only in the welfare of the nation as a whole, this would be simple. But I am not. And therein lies the problem. I wish I could believe in the Donald, but I don’t. So, the bottom line is that, like it or not, the Trumpsters have a flawed candidate and so do the Cruzers. And I stand in between, conservative, constitutional, etc., not convinced completely by either one.

Feel free to read my About Me page and you will understand why I am so anti-statist. My family has seen this before at it's worst that mankind can offer. That's also why I have so much respect for our Constitution and our God given rights and freedoms.

I was neck and neck before I chose Trump over Cruz. At the time, I found on opensecrets.org that one of Cruz's major donors is Goldman-Sachs. That really bothered me about him because I remembered Goldman-Sachs was one of the donors that helped usher in 0bama. Since then, Cruz has taken in the GOPe, and many other things that now I'm glad I didn't choose him. He's turned out to be a very poor candidate, IMO. Telling people that didn't support him, uneducated, low info, just sealed the deal that he just wasn't a very good candidate. It also made him look like an elitist, like the elitists in DC that we must defeat.

I completely understand that Trump is flawed but he does have some very good qualities about him and people that worked for him and with him have very good things to say about him. Some claim that he will do as he says. That is good for curbing illegal immigration and building a wall. That alone would put the statists years behind as they would not be able to import voters to help keep them in power. He's also promised to uphold the 2nd Amendment. That is very important to keep the statists at bay.

And finally, a Trump Presidency would mean the end of the GOP establishment as we know it. Then, Constitutional Conservatism would at least have a chance to survive in this country. It would also finally set up for a true opposition party in this country to help try to reverse so much of the damage the statists have done to it. With Cruz in bed with the establishment, I would have zero hope of any of the above happening. We have a long ways to go but having a true opposition party will help tremendously.

The magic number for Cruz and Kasich is about 225 - 250 to be on the safe side. That is how many bound delegates the two of them need to collect to force an open convention. Cruz should pick up about 150 by winning IN, MT, SD and NE, so they should be able to pick up the remaining 100 from the proportional states.

If you believe Trump will build the wall and repatriate illegals then you should vote Trump. Give the Rats tens of millions of new Marxist voters (think chain migration) and American conservationism is on the ash heap of history. There is only one issue this election and immigration is that issue.

I purposely left the tv off tonight. I am going to assume Hannity got duped as the last Trump tweet was 17 hrs ago and the last facebook post was 5 hours ago, but more importantly, NO press releases since this AM. Too bad Hannity fell for the #NeverTrump National “we”-Screw America. Trump hasn’t even put up a “Thank You” Wisconsin and he always does that win or lose, so the BS meter on this fake statement is through the roof!!!

I’m sorry. I find your argument - such as it is - simplistic and unhelpful.

Why? Your argument is only negative against Cruz. It does nothing - NOTHING - to make me more inclined toward Trump. You don’t win something with nothing, especially the presidency of the United States. You win it with something (something more than a baseball cap and a slogan).

Why should Trump be president of the United States? I know why Hillary should not be. I know why Bernie - God help us all! - should not be. But why should Trump be, as opposed to someone else who is not Hillary or Bernie?

I am not convinced by what I read on FR. If anything, I am more troubled. I do not see Trump supporters doing much other than going negative on anyone who isn’t Trump. As a student of history, I am well aware of the shortcomings of such reasoning. Why Trump? Positively. Not Negatively. Why Trump?

Again, I’m sorry, I remain skeptical.
