And we've got loads of FReepers who are going to sit this one out if their preferred candidate doesn't win the nomination.

Are you now promising to vote for Trump, Bruce?

They must be lefties. Or maybe he’s considered moderate by Frisco standards. Cause I’ve heard the man’s positions for myself. He’s a dyed in the wool far lefty.

Actually, my source is in Orange County (and is staunchly conservative), he has known Chemerensky for many years, and though they disagree politically, he believes that Chemerensky can separate his bias from an interpretation of the law. As opposed to died in the wool lefties (Kagan, Sotominor and Ruth Buzzi Ginsberg) who look for ways to use the law to promote their causes.

I was surprised at my sources comments as well, but he is family and I do trust him.

Yeah, I’ll be voting for whomever the GOP nominee is in November unless they do something nuts. As I’ve said, I may have to drink heavily first if it is Trump, but the Supreme Court cannot be lost.

Yeah that’s what Hugh Hewiit says too. I know, who am I going to believe, the experts or my own lying ears? I remember when they were debating making him dean of UCI Law School how Hewitt defended him and oh he’s qualified despite his views yadda yadda yadda. This after countless times Chemerensky labeled potential conservative jurors as “dangerously out of the mainstream” or other stock choices out of the lefty grab bag. It’s no wonder why socialism is winning hearts and minds. Those on the right play by the Queensberry rules while radicals go for the balls.
