Cruz visit to Bronx high school canceled after students threaten a walkout:

‘His views are against ours’

Ted Cruz came to New York Wednesday talking about education, but he’s the one who got schooled.

The lesson came from a group of Bronx high school students who told the Republican presidential candidate to stay away.

Cruz was scheduled to speak at Bronx Lighthouse College Preparatory Academy until students wrote a letter to the principal asking her not to let Cruz come, prompting staffers to cancel the appearance.

"We told her if he came here, we would schedule a walkout," said Destiny Domeneck, 16. "Most of us are immigrants or come from immigrant backgrounds. Ted Cruz goes against everything our school stands for."

Destiny and her classmates communicated that sentiment to Lighthouse Principal Alix Duggins.

“A group of students will be leaving during 4th period, as (an) act of civil disobedience in regards to the arrival of Ted Cruz to BLCPA,” the letter said. “We have all considered the consequences of our actions and are willing to accept them.”

If you have the idea that Cruz will not win reelection should he come up short somehow on his presidential run, let me put them to bed for you right this minute.

Did you claim Obama wasn’t eligible?

I think you make a good point.

What folks don’t always realize, is that even immigrants are down on the illegal portion of immigration.

It depends on the people, but I can tell you first hand that I know a lot of people of Mexican heredity, that are on board with Trump’s plans.

Some of them take it a lot farther than I or Trump do. It’s amazing how negative they are on it.

Clearly Destiny Domeneck has a great destiny ahead of her.

As a minimum wage fast-food cashier, that is (until the combination of excessive minimum wage mandates and the advent of more-capable automated systems pushes her out of work).

Tough luck, Destiny... You ‘coulda been a contender’, if only you had had an open mind instead of being so determined to go through life as a know-nothing...

Cruz getting a taste of what it’s like. Maybe next time he won’t join the thugs of BLM in Chicago.

Cruz was in DC working for the Bush campaign/administration from 1999 until 2003. Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 until 2008.

“You admitted as much up above.”

When I was 2 years I contracted Polio; iron lung, braces, muscle and bone atrophy, the works. After 7 operations and years of therapy, I stabilized and got stronger. I became a carpenter by trade, worked hard for 35 years; even worked for 5 years as a civilian contractor washing P3’s, A4’s and HH52 helos at S. Weymouth Naval Air Station.

In my early 50’s, I got hit with post-polio and started regressing badly. A year and a half ago I ended up in the hospital with complications and didn’t recover until the doctors found a old “magic bullet” last August. I’ve been getting my life back pretty steadily since then.

So, going forward, in case I end up back in the hospital, I’ll make sure my wife keeps posting here.

That way I can satisfy your strict and absolute guidelines.!!

Some momentum Cruz has. Haha! He’s such s loser. He should be ridiculed for winning Utah and Wisconsin but lost Florida, South Carolina, Virginia and Ohio. States way more important.

“Destiny Domeneck”? Sounds like a character from a Dickens novel.

What folks don’t always realize, is that even immigrants are down on the illegal portion of immigration.

This is true, but it gets a bit more complicated. Many of the legal Mexicans and other Latinos (outside of Puerto Ricans) have close friends and family members who are illegal aliens. So, even if they themselves are inclined in principle to be hardliners in the abstract, it can quickly become more ambivalent. And once you see words like "homophobic" thrown into the spiel, we are getting outside of the realm of regular immigrant folks who are picking a candidate and into the realm of leftist apparatchiks.

It sort of reminds me of when Bill Richardson forgot his party orthodoxy during a debate and answered that be a homosexual was a choice, but corrected himself when it was suggested to him that he might want to reconsider his response.

Did you make the claim Obama wasn’t eligible based on foreign birth and or his father wasn’t a citizen. 2008-2012.

I don’t have a big beef against your comments. I don’t know the dynamics of that area, and you may be spot on.

I appreciate the response.
