Kasich: 'Establishment' not going to let Trump, Cruz become nominee
The Washington Examiner ^ | April 10, 2016 | By Rudy Takala (@RudyTakal

Republican delegates are not going to be likely to support either Donald Trump or Texas Sen. Ted Cruz when they get to the party's national convention in July, Ohio Gov. John Kasich said on Sunday.
.
.
.
"Here's what's interesting," Kasich said, suggesting that he was prepared to go down in history. "I am the second choice of both the Cruz people and also the Trump people. As you know, we've had 10 contested conventions, and only three times has the front-runner won. I don't want to go back in history too far, but I think old Honest Abe went into the convention either third or fourth and came out the winner. So we'll see."

Poll: Denying Trump nomination would cost GOP in November

Blocking Donald Trump from the Republican presidential nomination with a contested convention would spell disaster for the GOP, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found Saturday.

Like rush said last week, GOPe insiders are touting:

BETTER TO LOSE WITH CRUZ

They know cruz is a loser in a general and they are ok with it, as long

as they keep their power. With the hildabeast in office, they keep their

power.

Embrace your role as spoiler cruz-bots, cause thats all your candidate

and all you disciples are.

They can give the nomination to whomever they want, they will never be president unless his name is TRUMP.

Didn’t Thompson die last year?

Looks like he did.

Not that that necessarily prevents the GOP from nominating him... after all, it did nominate John McCain and Bob Dole.

It is a crime against the people that there even *is* a Second Ballot at convention, after a year of racking up the victories and the delegates.

If it were not for delegates at convention getting two, three, maybe four more votes than the rest of the people, and after these delegates already voted in their own state primary.

I demand four more votes for my guy! How would they like that sprinkled in their silver spoon?

Didn’t he pass away in November of 2015? He did a nice cameo in God’s Not Dead 2. But your basic point applies. He or she will likely come out of the some state’s governorship. You know a conservative who folds like a cheap suit when Marxists stir up some crap. Kinda like what McCain does to Az.

I doubt they’d like it at all.

So, why did Romney/Ryan secretly file with the FEC to run? They filed in Massachusetts. It was approved in January.
Contested convention will result in RnR.

Kasich is hard wired into the establishment. He is absolutely right. If either Trump or Cruz do not get the needed delegates they will never see the nomination, NEVER! They are both way too dangerous for the establishment.

If they are both short of the goal, they had better learn to bury the hatchet and join up before the convention n a ticket or suffer the consequences of being on the outside looking in.

The Establishment would rather lose in a landslide with a third option and take the Clinton crumbs than risk having Trump or Cruz as president and flipping over their cushy apple cart.

Bank on it!

Kasich, stop comparing yourself to Abraham Lincoln. You are not him, no one cares about you, and you will never be preside t. Go back to Ohio and manage your state.

Lincoln caused the greatest conflagration in American History and killed the equivalent of 8 million Americans when adjusted for population growth.

No thanks!

For the love of God can we PLEASE dispense with this clown notion that Cruz is not GOPe? At this point it’s just retarded to try and keep that charade going.

I knew when I saw the title of this thread, and saw that it had 70 something replies that there was NO WAY I'd be in before the first, cliche posting of "Cruz IS the GOPe!!!"

I know my Trumpster propaganda so well.

Kind of hard NOT guess correctly, though. The propaganda and talking points are ubiquitous.

Why would any Trump supporter pick Kasich...

Because of the communistic delegate selection process that's often in play, many delegates don't believe in the candidate they represent. They'll risk rioting in the streets to deny voters our choice. Hope I'm wrong.
