Are you kidding? Left up to the House, we’d get a PhRMA lobbyist as President.

NO thanks. He talked big, but let the Haditha case charges go forward, leaving Sgt Wuterich to swing in the wind. Also, the utility he may have as a General isn’t what I want in a president. I think i’ll skip the childlike life of living on a military base for all of America.

“the only way General Mattis could come to power would be as part of a Military Leadership Counsel , which came to power in a coup-like event , after Obama and cronies were arrested and incarcerated , or after the election of Clinton or Sanders is refused to be complied with .
I for one would be a supporter of such a development”

That’s burning the village to save it. The only thing worse than the politicians we now have is an authoritarian government of Generals. Laughing thinking about it. Lying NSA Alexander? Petraeus? Admiral Mullen? Mattis telling us all to mow our lawns and lights out at 2100? The Generals cant win an election, so of course there is resistance. So then we have base rules on gun ownership, nationwide.
That’s what they did in Argentina, collected the guns by saying you had to take ‘em to a military armory. They gave you a receipt. Of course, the day of return never came.

There is no shortcut. A coup is the same as Hitler thinking the V2 rocket will save him.

Marines are perfect. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. But there is a reason Marines are the only branch that was never given nukes, never had a president, and never was the chairman of the joint chiefs until now.

And even that last is a bad thing really. There is a size the Corps should be at, lest it provoke a night of the long knives and an overall Corps reduction attack by all the lesser services.

“Maddog Catnipman” is willing to throw his hat in the ring too; I’m working on getting together a group of wealthy donors to back me.

I figure I’m almost as well known to the general public as retired Marine Gen. James “Mad Dog” Mattis, so hey, why not!

Good for them and I’d bet they’re good employees.

You believe the GOPe in the House would choose a decent, competent, unspoiled, man?

You are delusional.

Sir ( or madame ) I think we go by separate assumptions about the future . You predicate that America as we know it will continue along it’s merry way , maybe some bad regimes , but the nuts and bolts we have always relied on will remain in place , no matter what . This we it is advisable to continue with the present system that we have , which has always ( more or less) served us well , to some capacity or another . It may fail in some ways , but otherwise it will continue to be the glue .
Myself , I predict the glue is about to fail . And it is going to be dramatic /traumatic , far more than any can now perceive . After years of inept and now in the last few years , overtly treasonous , treasonous to the cause of expanding radical world dominating fundamentalist Islam , we are about to suffer a series of attacks tha will forever change America as we have ever know it . Add to that , simmering and almost equally insane RPK style Communism on the Pacific rim .... I live in the first spot in America their nukes can reach . Its a real concern .

My contention is that we , America , needs to ACT 1st ! Get on a war footing , with warrior leadership , and a true War Department , and take the fight to our mortal enemies and wipe them out . In alliance with , not as adversaries to Russia and/or China . In alliance with Israel .
There is no possible civilian U.S. administration that will do this . Zero chance . They will wait until millions of Americans have died in the smoking , nuked ruins of multiple American cities . I am not willing to wait . I grew up on SAC bases , I know what the real fear feels like . We need a modern day General Curtis LeMay , empowered by a powerful and bold civilian leader who is willing to let our military fully off the leash . Or...we need a military counsel leadership until this rough ,tough work is done and WE are victorious.
Of course there is no precedent for any of this , but there have never been times like these . Not since WW2 . And those were different times . American men were American MEN ! Our greatest generation and we could count on them . Now days they are far far fewer , but we need them just as much . That’s all . Thanks
