Donors trying to draft "Mad Dog" Mattis for presidential run
Washington Examiner ^ | 8 April 2016 | Jaqueline Klimas

A group of wealthy donors is preparing to draft retired Marine Gen. James "Mad Dog" Mattis to run for president and taken down Donald Trump, according to reports.

Nearly a dozen donors are willing to throw their resources behind the former head of U.S. Central Command. The group has delivered six memos to Mattis outlining how he could win the race in the hope that it will encourage him to run, the Daily Beast reported.

The game plan would be for Mattis to win enough states to keep Trump and Hillary Clinton from getting the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency. The House would then pick the president, and supporters believe lawmakers would support a former general widely seen as an American hero.

I pray this happens. I was going to write General Mattis in anyway. To those that don't think this will gain any traction, there is a large movement in the active duty and veteran community to get this done. It's not only Marine who want this, it's people from all the services. Gen Mattis is the only candidate that can restore integrity to the White House. Trump can't do it, Cruz can't do it, and niether can Hillary or the Socialist. MATTIS 2016!

Sounds like a GOPe plan to ensure Hillary wins in the likely event Trump is the nominee. That way they can help Hillary without actually having to blow their cover by officially supporting her. I’ve never heard of her, but my guess is he would take enough votes in the South to make Hillary competitive there.

Forget it. This guy has no prayer. Who’s bankrolling his campaign? Whenever I see the word “donors” I think establishment. Another one of their schemes to take votes away from the GOP candidate to help Hillary.

the only way General Mattis could come to power would be as part of a Military Leadership Counsel , which came to power in a coup-like event , after Obama and cronies were arrested and incarcerated , or after the election of Clinton or Sanders is refused to be complied with .
I for one would be a supporter of such a development . America is in such dire straits , and yet under the command and control of such deeply stupid and deceitful people . We act like it’s ok for the Left and the Islamo Nazi to just take power and dominate ( and the BLM’ers) , when it absolutely is not . Civility has to have it’s limits .
We cannot lose our country , our history , or future , over some warped sense of anal retentive decorum .

I would love to see Mattis head up a Leadership Counsel , for a term of about 4 or 5 years .

Think what you want, but the movement is real. The General will get votes. I think he gets enough to scare the hell out of both party establishments.

And 0.0001% of them will be Democrats.

If he ever wants to run for President, perhaps he’s smart enough to fill out the paperwork?

I absolutely guarantee, with 100% metaphysical certitude, that he will not become the President in 2016.

Yep, there’s been talk of this for a while.

I know of 8 Marines who won’t support this guy, at least they shouldn’t after his unlawful command influence from on the Haditha persecutions.

He wouldn’t take one vote from Hillary. Just the latest scheme from the #nevertrump frauds. They don’t want to expose the uniparty for what it is by supporting Hillary outright, so they propose this guy as a stalking horse, hoping to fool enough misguided “patriots” to ensure Trump doesn’t win the presidency. Besides, even if step 1 worked and nobody won an electoral majority, it’s laughable to think the GOP congresscritters would select him. They would vote in Paul Ryan. Only a moron would fall for it.
