They don’t want to expose the uniparty for what it is by supporting Hillary outright, so they propose this guy as a stalking horse, hoping to fool enough misguided “patriots” to ensure Trump doesn’t win the presidency. Besides, even if step 1 worked and nobody won an electoral majority, it’s laughable to think the GOP congresscritters would select him. They would vote in Paul Ryan. Only a moron would fall for it.
