When it comes to querying the benefits to the west of semi-Islamization, Trevor Phillips packs more of a punch than most of us. First, he's black, which shouldn't matter but does. Second, he's the former head of Britain's Equality and Human Rights Commission, one of those identity-group grievance bodies which made such considerations matter (as did the Commission for Racial Equality, which Mr Phillips previously chaired). Third, he's the guy who introduced the word "Islamophobia" into the English language, in a celebrated report on "discrimination" two decades ago.
Now, in a new Channel 4 documentary with an accompanying poll of British Muslim attitudes, he has issued a mea sorta culpa:
For a long time, I too thought that Europe's Muslims would become like previous waves of migrants, gradually abandoning their ancestral ways, wearing their religious and cultural baggage lightly, and gradually blending into Britain's diverse identity landscape. I should have known better.

The person who came up with the phrase "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" had liberals in mind when he wrote it.
It’s good intentions by the useful idiots in the ranks.
It’s pure evil by the calculating bastards at the top.
Still, a reformed liberal who admits their mistakes is among the very rarest of birds. I respect him because he knows that there will be a high cost for this; the system will punish him severely.

FWIW... My very liberal stepdaughter found out how much extra she'd have to pay in taxes if Comrade Bernie was elected president. It was a very large chunk of money. She has two young children whom she and her husband are paying a lot of money for daycare. Sanders's added taxes would cost her family more than daycare for two kids.
She used to like him...now she understands the real economic pain a Marxist dolt like Sanders would cause. She's still a liberal...but now she has a better idea of what destruction socialists can wreak.
The punishment has already begun:
Bernie would turn America into Venezuela, economically. Lines, shortages, blackouts.
But he won’t get that far, America is not Venezuela, we will explode into open hot civil war first.
You know this is serious when Mark Steyn has written an entire article without quips and puns, other than “mea sorta culpa”, and only one hyperbolic sarcasm —about driving the number of immigrant teens who approve of jihad to 98%. Sobering.
