I do not which is more truly reprehensible, this news, or the failure of most so called "Conservatives" to openly object.
This is a clear repudiation of classic chivalric values that go back to antiquity--clearly at least to the age of Charlemagne.

WW II officers were on the battlefield, in fact, they had a large casualty rate. Some were battlefield commissions but there was ‘counting peanuts’ jobs too.
