“Cruz finally pushed things too far. I am not sure that it is something that can be undone. Cruz celebrating a million Republican voters being disenfranchised in Colorado and installing his operatives in every Trump delegate spot in Arizona is very offensive to anyone who has not lost their moral compass.”
I think you nailed it right there, Cruz’s willing complicity in the Colorado fiasco (nice word for it) and his shenanigans elsewhere to deprive the peoples vote is hitting home with more and more of his own supporters. Somehow waking them up from the Cruz Cult sleep. Amazing!
2ndDivisionVet is a Cruz supporter and someone I have admired a great deal here for many years. Yesterday he started at least a dozen threads trying to equivocate for the Cruz campaign’s recent activities in Arizona, Colorado and other places. The point I tried to make to him is that the more people hear about this the worse it is for Cruz. Cruz trying to mislead people by referring to Wisconsin, Colorado and I am not sure what else as “11 victories in a row” is just plain embarrassing. Whoever thought that whopper up should be fired because it plays right into the narrative that he is an out and out liar.
It really doesn’t make much difference because Cruz had already lost this contest over a month ago. This false hope that he is somehow going to steal the nomination by working with Kasich to deprive Trump of enough delegates to get a clear majority before the convention is offensive on so many levels. Then Cruz continues to destroy what was left of his credibility with his false narratives and constant attacks on Trump? It is just sad. He is destroying whatever future he had in politics and helping the Democrats.
At this point trying to justify Cruz’s hand being caught in the delegate cookie jar is counter-productive. This Reuter’s Poll makes it very clear. Cruz should try to keep a low profile during the thrashing that is about to start on Tuesday. It will likely be so spectacular that people may forget all about Colorado, Arizona, and etc. It would be better for him to bow out a loser than be remembered as a cheater and thief.
If Cruz wants to do the right thing for the people of this country and his own career he should bow out after the North East completely trashes his presidential aspirations. Hopefully Trump will nominate him to take Scalia’s place. If the leftist loon left in the race can deliver his 25% support to Biden’s spot maybe the Republicans can all be one big happy family again?
