Republican officials in Texas may find themselves debating secession at the state GOP convention in Dallas this May 12-14 due to a surge in resolutions passed at the county level.

A Nederland-based activist group called the Texas Nationalist Movement claims at least 22 resolutions on a secession vote have passed, which puts pressure on GOP officials to discuss the issue at the state's convention. The Houston Chronicle confirmed passage of 10 resolutions before its story was published Friday.

Texas Nationalist Movement said just one resolution passed four years ago.

"I absolutely think the people should have an opportunity to vote on this issue," tea-party activist Jared Woodfill of Houston said, the newspaper reported.

If they did succeed in succession they would have huge border control problem keeping people out.

I am fully on board with secession. After all, the country was founded by secessionists. Maybe a full-blown secessionist movement would wake up the Ruling Class.

They could contract with Donald to build a yuge wall. But, will they allow expat Texans back in if they can produce proof of Texas birth?

If this movement spreads, you’ll see the Ruling Class really wake up.

Can Alabama come too? We’ll bring Jeff Sessions with us.

There is a ceremony we have where you swear allegiance to the Republic and you are baptized in the water of the San Jacinto monument's reflection pool for repatriation.

No question, if secession came up on the ballot here in TX, I’d vote for it. A renewed Republic of Texas should at least have potential, unlike this sick, dying, faggoty cesspool that America has become.

Alabamans can come, but you can’t bring Jeff Sessions or Sean Hannity. You see, these kind of resolutions at the state convention level are the kind of fun state delegates get to have. It represents the essence of grass roots support.

They should call it Libertaria. A constitution that calls to jail all Socialists/Communists. Empty Austin and jail the bartender who called 911 on the Bush girls.

Once we secede, I move that the Capital be moved back to its original location, West Columbia.
