UPDATE (WKOW) -- Authorities in Juneau County say almost all of the 120 bison that escaped Thursday night from an Amish farm have been corralled and brought back.
Four however did make it down to Sauk County and had to be euthanized.
Deputies are still looking in Elroy and Union Center for a few additional stragglers-- still at large.
The Sheriff's Office says charges are being discussed depending on the damage.
There will also be a citation issued to the farm's owner.

UPDATE (WKOW) -- The round-up continues in Juneau and Vernon Counties tonight for 120 Bison, or what some call Buffalo.
They got loose and scrambled across the area last night. Right now, state wildlife experts are heading to Elroy and Union Center to help. Those communities in Juneau County are a little less than two hours from Madison.
We're told the herd has split, which makes catching them even more difficult. Some have been caught, but many remain out in the open. Deputies hope to get the animals back to an Amish Farm, from where they escaped.
"When I first noticed them outside here, I said holy moly, what is going on?" Matt Barreau couldn't believe his eyes. So he grabbed his phone and started snapping pics.
His 3 and 5-year-old daughters tried to be brave.
"Ahh..nervous!" Tarynn Barreau said about the experience.
"They ran back up there!" Morgynn recalled what happened next when to their dog, Snickers.
"They went by Snicker's cage!" she said afraid for her dog.
Snicker's barked and alerted the family to the danger and then ran straight for the safety of her red doghouse for safety.
"We watched from up here," Morgynn said about what she saw all from her deck.
Juneau County Sheriff Brent Oleson says staying back from the Buffalo is smart.
"There's about 120 buffalo, they split up into different groups and are somewhat excited and running with traffic, so staying away from the area is appreciated," Sheriff Oleson said.

UPDATE (WKOW) --- The Juneau County Sheriff says that most of the herd is in the Union Center area, according to the Messenger of Juneau County.
The herd belongs to an Amish farmer who is working on rounding up the animals.
Officials say they are not sure how long it will take to round them all up.

JUNEAU COUNTY (WKOW) -- A herd of 120 buffalo escaped from its enclosure in southern Juneau County Thursday night.
The Juneau County Sheriff's Office said it has created dangerous travel conditions in the Union Center, Elroy and Wonewoc. Officials advised against approaching or disturbing the buffalo, on foot or in cars, due to their stampeding behavior.
Officials are working to contain and capture the buffalo, but say they likely won't be able to do so until the morning.

Darned Amish!
Thank God! Buffalo running around wherever they want? Can’t have THAT crap going on. /s
I pass this herd (when they’re at home :{)) on the way into town (Hillsboro). They are fun to watch but...I had friends out west that raised buffalo. The greatest expense was fencing fortified w/ railroad ties to keep the critters in. This Amish herd has no such reinforced fencing and sure enough, it wasn’t enough. This is the second year they’ve had a buffalo herd, no trouble last year, though.
Did someone say they were ‘Shufflin’ off to Buffalo”?
Thanks for the update. My wife and I were just talking about this.
‘Snickers’ saves the day!
Oh, this has been ALL THE BUZZ here in ‘Sconny, LOL!

Sounds like the Republicans in this Silly Season, LOL! :)
All my grass was gone
Saw 2 bison, bison on my lawn
Romp, stomp round the ground
Could reverse lines 1 and 3
Thought better of driving over to see them. Republicans? Wish we had Republicans with the spine of buffalo. Heard most of them are back.
My guess they’ll improve things next year. A couple stories have referred to out of state owners, I presume of the buffalo. I’m glad it’s worked out well, I’ve heard of loose cattle/cows rounded up by ATV/snowmobile. Buffalo? Don’t think that works.
:)
A friend had to help a guy get his into a cattle trailer to go to market. Brand new cattle trailer. After they got them in, they completely demolished that trailer. The sides were all beat to hell, the back end was beat up and everything.
After that, he sold them on site and if a single person wanted one to butcher, he had them get the butcher out on the place to shoot the dang thing right then and there.
BTW, white tailed deer are are another that cant be put into a trailer. They will kill themselves trying to get out.
It has been my personal experience that Buffalo DO NOT like snowmobiles.
That sounds singularly unattractive. Glad you’re OK.
