This day, I can’t say why exactly, has finally brought home to me a brutal truth. Regardless of who wins this Presidential election, regardless of how much we have loved America and the ideas it was based upon; we’re nearing an end. Since I’m a Christian, I’m not surprised. Scripture fortells the events that we’re watching transpire in startling detail that is becoming more clear with each passing day. We’re given several examples of what happens to nations and peoples that turn away from their Creator and His laws. And yet, we still trust that a mortal will somehow take everything that’s wrong and magically put it all right again. We feud and rail at each other because we disagree as to who that person will be. We’re so caught up in that debate that we seem not to have noticed that we’ve already fallen over the cliff’s edge as a society, as a nation, and a people.

We are watching some major candidates try to cover up the fact that they know this full well. The entity of “good” is now under full out attack and it’s plain, at this point that “good” isn’t going to prevail. At least, not in this dying world will peace ever be realized. That’s because we can’t make it and have never been promised that we will. This world has to end before the new one can begin.

It’s time for the Christian to come to terms with that. No politics, no politician, no mortal hero is ever going to turn humanity, much less this nation from the end that’s in store for all of us. Sodom and Gomorrah were most likely church picnics compared to the threats to our very existence as reflections of Our Creator that exist today, especially in America. The qualities of brute beasts is the norm, the ambition and the goal of this fallen world.

It’s time for Christians to become vigilant about what has always been the only thing we have that’s of any importance at this point and that’s our salvation. We won’t secure it by conforming to or going along with evil. The Devil has saved his worst assaults for last. Bless everyone. Stay strong.

I know. I’m willing to go to jail for what I believe.
