This is one area Google was smarter than Apple and Microsoft. Apple and Microsoft traditionally didn’t lobby gov’t officials. Microsoft started after the whole bogus DOJ lawsuit. I believe Apple is starting to as well with iTunes lawsuits (but not really sure—maybe swordmaker can comment on that).

Google understands you have to pay to play in America—especially if you get very big you need to pay off the mafia (aka US Gov’t).

I couldn’t get the charts to print here.

Can you?

I didn't try.

I don't see the point in printing them, because they are "live" charts. Did you notice that?

On the first one, if you roll over one of the horizontal bars on either side of the plot (Google or Government), it highlights a name, and then selects the dates at which a White House meeting occurred, and then lists the number and names of each person present.

On the second one, every top and bottom vertical line highlights a job transition by name of person and the two different jobs (government and private) that person held, so it shows the interchange between Google and Government posts.

These live figures are a query window into a substantial database, and a printout could not capture that.

I am pretty convinced that Google will be the main company that manufactures the Mark of the Beast tattoos and scanners.

Wow.

I’ll take a closer look at it now.

Apple in the Steve Jobs era did not maintain a lobbying presence in Washington or anywhere, for that matter. Nor did Apple make any political contributions to any candidate or political cause. Steve kept Apple out of politics. What political involvement you may have heard about came from the Apple Employees' Political Action Committee which was fairly Liberal leaning, with it's contributions at about 85% Liberal to 15% Conservative. . . but that goes along with every other Tech business because of the age of the majority of their workers.

Apple finally established a small lobbying presence in Washington after Tim Cook became the official CEO after Jobs' death. That has grown as the government has started going after Apple for various reasons, especially misrepresentation of the taxes it pays by the Democrats and encryption of its devices.

Replaced both of my cell phones with “smarter” ones just last year (late). they were heavily-discounted. Somewhere around 80% off.

Both of them require Google accounts to take advantage of the full features of the phone. I’ll be forced to, on the Tracfone.
