Just think if after 9/11 rather than invading two, three, four and counting countries, we’d instead just occupied Mecca and said to the Islamic world, “no Hajj this year and no Hajj any year in which a single person dies in a terrorist attack perpetrated in the name of Islam.” Can’t imagine that wouldn’t have been more effective.
