PIKETON, Ohio (AP) — An out-of-breath caller who found two of the eight slain members of an Ohio family told a 911 dispatcher in a quavering voice that "there's blood all over the house."
"I think my brother-in-law's dead," she said, her voice rising as she adds later that it looks like someone has "beat the crap out of them."
"I think they're both dead," she said before breaking down into sobs, according to one of two 911 call recordings released Saturday by the state attorney general's office.
The calls were released a day after eight family members were found dead with gunshots to the head at four properties in rural southern Ohio.
Authorities continued the scramble to determine who targeted that clan and why. Investigators said they interviewed more than 30 people in hopes of finding leads in the deaths of the seven adults and the teenage boy whose bodies were found Friday at homes southwest of Piketon. They completed work at the crime scene Saturday.
"It's a very active and ongoing investigation," said Lisa Hackley, a spokeswoman for Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine. "We're looking for the person or persons who did this."
The victims, all members of the Rhoden family, were identified Saturday as 40-year-old Christopher Rhoden Sr.; his 16-year-old son, Christopher Rhoden Jr.; 44-year-old Kenneth Rhoden; 38-year-old Gary Rhoden; 37-year-old Dana Rhoden; 20-year-old Clarence "Frankie" Rhoden; 20-year-old Hannah Gilley; and 19-year-old Hanna Rhoden.

The man who called 9-1-1 to report that HE SAW MENTION OF THE DISCOVERY OF THE DEAD BODIES ON THE NEWS and that his cousin had been shot dead IS THE GUY WHO COMMITTED THE MURDERS!!!
His first words upon calling 911 was that he "saw this on the news" IS A DEAD GIVEAWAY. I'll check back later to say "SEE I TOLD YA SO!!!".
My guess would be a family member or a jilted boyfriend. No one else would have the motivation to travel all over town shooting so many members of the family.
Agreed considering the police aren’t alerting the public as the who or what to report in this case. Looks like they already have got their man.

That very well could be the case, but it is not unusual for gang bangers in Chicago, Detroit or New Orleans to go out and make multiple hits in one night.
That is why you will often see news articles with weekend body counts in Chicago.

That is absolutely horrible-it sounds like what the Mafia-the one here, or South of the border-does when there is a feud with another family...
My guess is drugs or drug runners were involved.
This has a cartel feel to it.
Drug dealers of the South American variety have been known to wipe out entire families to “send a message”.
*Someone* in this family had an ongoing drug debt or was otherwise involved with drugs.
Could be that someone in the drug trade was convinced that someone in the family was a snitch and moved to take care of the problem.
Or it could be something no one expects.
When the mentally ill go violently off, there is no telling what the trigger was.
Maybe his bacon and eggs told him to go kill people.
6 unsolved murders last year in Chillicothe. All young women. Some alleged to be involved in heroin and/or prostitution.
Of those questioned in the latest murders this week, a hand full were from Chillicothe (40 miles from the recent murders).
Reading between the lines, one line of thought from the authorities is it was a revenge killing.

For some reason I’ve been following this story closely. It’s amazing because authorities haven’t leaked ANY info. Unusual.
Now there’s a press conf scheduled for 4:30ish and a SWAT team of 15-20 just mobilized....destination not being revealved by media yet.
