Well yeah. Thats the point, isnt it? Under normal circumstances, Ted Cruz and John Kasich wouldnt get within a mile of each other politically. Cruz has spent his single Senate term as the iconoclast, tilting at leadership every chance he could get, while Kasich has spent the last few years chastising conservatives like Cruz as knee-jerk obstructionists. Suddenly, Cruz has an affinity for established leadership and Kasich for obstruction when it comes to Trump, and its pretty clear why:
------------------------
Still, Trumps correct about this new Marvel Team-Up and the weakness it shows in both candidates. Trumps about to win big in tomorrows northeastern primaries and strengthen his argument in California, which will decide whether we have a contested convention or a Trump coronation in Cleveland. Cruz has belatedly realized that he cant stop Trump on his own, and Kasich has belatedly realized that he was hurting Cruz a lot more than Trump. No matter how strategically sound this move might be for both, the fact that they had to team up underscores Trumps strength, and to some extent validates his claims to be a victim of the process that he has dominated, at least among his followers.

Only proves Cruz is not the pure conservative.
So Cruz is happy now that Ksick didn’t drop otp like he said he should?
otp = out
Yup. Teaming with Amnesty John?
Guess we won't be chatting about the US border too much.
to Crusick: if you ain’t first you’re last - deal
Cruz said Trump will put the republican party back a generation..... hope so > MAGA
thanks for agreeing with Trump on that Crusick , now bow out you two headed sicko
Have they soured on the cruzaid over at Hot Air, or have they just gotten to the acceptance phase of grief?
The Cruz/Kasich alliance is a desperate move...aimed at one thing only...and all out effort to somehow stop Trump from gettgin the number he needs to win the nomination.
...sadly, it is coming precisely at the time when we need Cruz to do what is right for the country...and that is burying the war hatchet and ultimately supporting Trump.
Look, I proudly campaigned for, donated to, and voted for Cruz in Idaho.
But the facts on the ground now are what they are, and there is no denying them.
Trump is headed to the nomination and will arrive at the convention with either more delegates than he needs to win, or he will be very, very close. At this stage, I believe he is going to have more than the 1,237.
At this stage there is only one strategy that the GOP can take to win...and I believe if they do it, then we would win in November.
I am hoping that after the Indiana primary on the 3rd, that Cruz does this. I am hoping therefore that he loses that Primary in such a way to make this clear and that he then will do what is best for our nation. I may be disappointed, but that is my hope nonetheless.
The true goal is to defeat Hillary in November and prevent a 3rd Obama term...which would be an abject disaster for all of America.
So, Cruz simply MUST ultimately support Donald Trump and he must do it for the good of the country. He, and Kasich, and Rubio and all of the others....including all of us, are going to have to get together and beat Hillary.
I believe if Cruz sincerely buried the war hatchet and characterized the stakes in these terms...and if the GOP united behind that idea, that we would win in November.
Those may not be the facts I had hoped for...but they are the facts on the ground.
As to Trump...I penned this some time ago, and believe it holds true now too:
The Trump Phenomenon
http://www.jeffhead.com/Trump-Phenom.htm
Cruz supporters (like me) simply must set emotion, pride and hurt feelings aside for the good of the nation at this point. It is that simple.
I also recently wrote a letter to Ted Cruz encouraging him to take this path:

Yours is a noble effort. But Cruz is not going to acquiesce. It’s not in him and he isn’t what many thought he was.
He is a bad bad apple.
The true goal is to defeat Hillary in November and prevent a 3rd Obama term”
Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, and it never has been the goal from the beginning of this election cycle. The TRUE GOAL is to Keep the Party Going, Keep the Club Intact, Keep the Banksters and Wall Street happy, they keep us supplied with lots of cash, we remain in power , and to HELL WITH THE PEOPLE OF THE US. They don’t contribute to our campaigns in any meaningful way anyway.
Oh...it is clear that what you say is the GOPe’s goal.
But I am talking about the true goal for the good of the country.
The GOPe needs desperately to be embarrassed, shamed, and soundly defeated too.
Trump can (and I believe and hope will) make that happen. Cruz could help that immensely by helping Trump do it and uniting the party.
I am still hoping against hope that after May 3rd...he will.
But I am talking about the true goal for the good of the country.
I only see 1 candidate that appears to care about the Country and the American People, and that is Mr Trump.
Since it looks like EVERYONE is Against Trump except THE PEOPLE, I defer to my original Position. KEEP THE CLUB INTACT AND THE PARTY GOING AT ALL COST!!
Pretty frikkin sad!
I think Trump is impressed with Cruz exercising his own art of the deal to beat him. I bet not often does Trump come up against a guy 25yrs his junior, with no friends and no money and zero TV recognition and no passion except the burning desire to destroy the Left and plug the constitution back in who really intends to kick Trump’s ass.
Questions to ask Lying Ted supporters:
Do you think that Cruz can reach HALF the delegates needed to get to the nomination?
Or more appropriately, half of the delegates that Trump gets?
If he gets so lucky.. Where will he get an increase of at least 100% of delegates in Cleveland?
Do you honestly believe this can be done and him still be viable in a National election?
*keep in mind that nearly 80% of Primary voters Nationally overwhelmingly reject Lying Ted.
No one is impressed with someone who has no integrity.
Calgary Cruz has all the GOPe Bush globalist money he needs but it probably won’t help him because Ted Bush cannot get people to vote for him. I look forward to fixing my 2012 mistake and voting against Calgary Ted in 2018.
Trump is the epitome of ‘it’s nothing personal, just business’. Doubt he’s ever had it turned back around on him. VP is essential if Trump wants someone who will continue and expand whichever good conservative policy he implements in the future. It would also be helpful for Cruz’ supporters to vote for Trump in Nov. I know, Ted has no intention of VP period and there a lots of valid reasons for that, but I wish he’d send signals that it’s still a possibility.
