Even if its only 10 % loss on sales it will have a big impact enough to make a dent.
No need even for a bunch of college creeps to dance around in the aisles, like they do for BDS. This is grass roots.
As far as I go, Target is off my shopping list.
But the headline is highly deceptive.
While TGT traded down some on the day, it is still priced at nearly $80 a share. a share price that goes down a buck or two on a day’s trading... could be a sign of something yes, but it sure doesn’t constitute a crash or a disaster

right around $80 a share...closing at $79.50 in fact.... is AT LEAST at a 10 year high range for the firm (I only have access to ten years data where I am at, but the share price was a mere fraction of that at the start of that period so clearly this is probably quite a bit MORE than a 10 year high)
(Hopefully, the company will stop letting grown men into the little girls’ rooms....how can parents even take their kids shopping anymore? This policy is not only CRAZY but it is going to cause a major drop in patronage for the company...big time!)
These people are mentally ill. They need help not special bathroom privileges. Let’s stop encouraging these people to think they are normal. They are NOT. They are sick.

Yeah whatever, it’s our time and money. After JCP started publishing fag catalogs, never been there. Doesn’t matter about boycotts if they work or not, it’s still a missed sale.
They failed miserably in Canada, where I;m originally from. One Christmas they were building the signs and the next Christmas, it was OK but come January, they were bankrupt.
It doesn’t matter to me if the stock was falling or not, they’re not gonna get money from a number of people just like JCP and their fag homo catalogs or Macy’s with their anti Trump approach, it still hurts the bottom line.
They would know the same way the Dixie Chicks knew after they trashed president Bush while they were on tour in Europe.
They all but disappeared from the music scene as a result of their actions. They were a C&W group which of course made their popularity dependent on people from the South buying their music. Being so conservative, Southerners almost totally turned their backs on the group and many stations refused to play their music.
How would anyone know that anyone were boycotting the Dixie Chicks?

Oh they know. Was talking to someone who went into a Target last week that’s in a major close by city. She is usually oblivious about what’s going on and she said she realized that there were only TWO customers in the store, one of them being her. They only had two lines open and the cashier said it had been like that all week.
I guess we now know where all the JC Penney staff ended up.
Targets manegement made bad decisions and will pay dearly for them.
Sports Authority stopped selling guns. A bad move for a sporting goods company and the went bankrupt due to those poor choices.
Target may well deserve the same.

I signed the Target boycott. I’ll fulfill that pledge. I signed on with AFA...that is leading at least one of the petitions. They have been effective in the past in getting results from their boycotts. Those results became evident over time.
So, the idea of a stock uptick or downtick in such a short amount of time strikes me as a misguided way to approach this. In fact, following market turns could actually be a way for Target to combat this by loudly heralding any market upswing.
However, a million petitioners represents far more people than just those who signed. The long term results of a huge number of buyers shunning Target is what will affect them.
I’ve been avoiding Target anyway for other issues. This just adds to my reasons for not shopping there.
I feels sorry for the hourly workers and shareholders. Need to fire the C levels and reverse course.
You are correct - a serious lack of understanding how the stock market works. Target didn’t lose any money in the stock price drop - they made their money on the stocks initial sale - after that sale the only people making or losing any money are the people who buy and sell or trade the stock. The only affect on Target is any negative publicity that would affect their sales and, by default, their profits. To hurt Target you must hurt their sales.
Yep - for me, Target was like K-Mart; only used for the items that Walmart didn't have. They never seem to have many shoppers in there and one must wonder how they survive. Of course, S. MS is different than the liberal bastions - perhaps they only have their stores here as a symbol rather than a profit generator....
