What do we expect when we send in a couple hundred troops. Bring them home or level the place.
Shameful. Why are Americans being sent there to advise when they would be dependent on weak security? Obama’s fault - this is how a community organizer (I still don’t know what that is) fights a war.
God rest his soul and be with his loved ones.
So I guess the advisers are now advising to beef up the security. Or get the heck out of there.
RIP. I doubt this brave soldier was “advising” when he got hit.
Here is an excellent short recent documentary on YPG Kurds fighting ISIS. Really good HD footage and good narration. There is a short scene of US/Western SF at work starting at around 9:30.

Did Obama apologize yet?
Hillary’s Vietnam
The article kind of bothers me when it discusses breaking through the “front line”.
In modern warfare there is NO “front line” and everybody is combat effective.
Another hero pays the price for our freedom. Good thing there are no boots on the ground in that part of the world.
Where the heck is Cindy Sheehan??
Classic probing attack; ISIS used multiple car bombs to penetrate Kurd lines and advance at least 1-3 km into Peshmerga territory. I’m sure the adviser who died ran towards the gunfire when the attack began, and was trying to shore up the defenses. Another brave man who selflessly gave his life for freedom; may he rest in peace and the rest of us never forget his sacrifice.
This strike underscores a few key points. First, the Kurds remain under-funded and poorly armed. They need more anti-tank weapons that can blow a car bomb to bits. They also need more artillery and/or MLRS—something that can decimate ISIS as they advance across no-man’s land. And they need more airpower; took 23 sorties to get rid of the bad guys and a lot of fighting on the ground. Guessing Obama’s ROE is so tight we can’t do very many pre-emptive airstrikes on suspected car bomb factories, staging areas, etc.
The real take-away here: the liberation of Mosul is still months away. Kurds and the Iraqi Army lack the combat power and we don’t have the willpower to dedicate needed resources in support.
Is abccbsnbcnytlatcnn doing a count like they did with the Bush administration? Where is Code Pink?

You will note that they announced this as far away from the American Media as possible, so that it doesn’t remind people of what Obama said about “No boots on the ground”.
I have a fear that one day ISIS will get enough terrorists together to wipe out a small but significant number of our troops. I don’t care who you are, overwhelming numbers of enemy troops will get you.
