Yeah, they are the elites and their mestizo underclass’ remittance from the US is their source of revenue and their cushy lives behind the iron gates and security personnel.
That elite stuff is nothing but a social construct created and perpetuated by the political class-a continuation of the feudal system that existed in Spain that the top dogs didn’t want to give up-so they brought it with them 500 years ago. It is based on income now-not how light you are, who your parents happen to be-or whether or not your source of income is legal-it only persists because the people allow it-people like Chapo Guzman are “elites”...
Unless your family came from Spain less than maybe 150 years ago, then you are as much a Mestizo as I am-families that came from Spain 100’s of years ago are all mixed up with natives-still mostly Caucasian, since the natives were already mixed with everyone else who came over long before Spain set sail for the Americas.
