Chick-Fil-A Thrives in NYC Despite Mayor DeBlasio's Intolerance

Posted on 05/10/2016 12:43:46 PM PDT by SamAdams76

A few days ago, the Chick-Fil-A restaurant chain came under attack from the hateful and intolerant mayor of the city - Bill DeBlasio. The fact that this chain was founded by and is operated by church-going people who have strong family values and who actually close their restaurants on Sundays evidently irks the mayor to the point that he has made it clear that this restaurant chain is not welcome in "his" city.

Evidently it rubs the mayor the wrong way that some executives in this company espouse political and social opinions that are not lock-step with his own views. Therefore they should be banned.

Fortunately the operators of the restaurant chain itself are not as narrow-minded and bigoted as the mayor. In response to the mayor's hate and intolerance, the chain has a statement on their website as follows: "The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our Restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect – regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender.

Upon hearing that the mayor is trying to shame Chick-Fil-A into leaving the NYC marketplace, I decided to go to one of their locations today over at 6th Avenue and 46th Street.

Now for those not from the city, let me explain the enormity of the various dining options available. If you randomly place yourself anywhere in midtown Manhattan with a blindfold and throw a rock, chances are that that rock would bounce off a window of at least one of the dozen or so delis, pubs, restaurants or food trucks that would be within range of your rock throw. There are a LOT of options for eating in New York City and it is very competitive.

So I wanted to give Chick-Fil-A my support by going there for lunch, even though fried chicken sandwiches and waffle fries are not part of my diet plan. I was concerned that nobody was going there due to the mayor's ugly comments and wanted to show some support.

Well I got there about 1PM this afternoon, just after the lunch rush. Even then, the line to get in was snaked around the block. I stood in line for nearly 10 minutes before I got inside and was welcomed by the incredibly friendly and un-frazzled crew. About a half dozen Chick-Fil-A employees toting menus and clipboards were moving up and down the lines taking orders and explaining about their menu choices. There were so many people in line that they were taking our first names AND last name initials.

It was a very long line but very efficient. Somehow when I got to the register, they knew my name and what I had ordered. I got the famous chicken sandwich and I have to say it was pretty darn good. It was obvious to see why they lead the industry in average sales per restaurant - even higher than McDonalds.

As you can see from the photos below, looks like Chick-Fil-A is in Manhattan to stay!

De Blasio is probably creating a Buy-Cott reaction, just like Obama increases gun sales. Keep talking, D.B.!

WSJ mentioned it this week. The writer said he hoped all the leftists would stay away so the lines would be shorter!

Gotta have a deluxe Chick-Fil-a sandwich: w/ frilly lettuce leaf, vine-
ripened tomato slices, cheese slice. Add a side of hot, crisp waffle fries,
large iced real lemonade, couple containers of CFA's luscious "special
sauce....." and you got lunch.

======================================

No less a sophisticate than Esquire Mag named Chick-fil-a one of the nation's best sandwiches.

ESQUIRE REVIEW You can get a chicken sandwich anywhere, which may explain your low expectations. Boneless breast. Bun. Blah. But down south, there lives an eye-opener.

A come-to-Jesus sandwich. The Chick-fil-A. Seasoned, breaded breast served on a toasted buttered bun with dill- pickle slices. No mayo. No sauce at all. Deceptively simple, yet transcendent. The hook is the breading: spicy, with an intoxicating crunch.

The meat is always juicy, never chewy. The bun is like lingerie -- there, but not, providing delicious support without obscuring the main flavor. The first bite changes everything you think you know about chicken. And about the need for condiments. -- Allison Glock

Chick-fil-A is the #1 per stores sales leader right now.

#1 Chick-fil-A - $3 million per store.
#2 Jason’s Deli - $2.6 million per store.
#3 Panera Bread - $2.5 million per store.
#4 McDonald’s - $2.5 million per store.

The drive thru in Parker CO has TWO order takers standing outside taking orders, ONE cashier outside taking payment.

Then you drive around the corner and pick up your order. Very fast.

Yesterday they served 131 driver thru between 12.00 noon and 1 pm.

That’s one car each 30 seconds.

been that way for years.

They ought to offer a NYC special on jumbo drinks to rub it in the faces of the commies and fascists running the city.

Love it. No matter how much crap is thrown their way, the good folks at Chick Fil A just smile and move along.

How entrepreneurial....the ice cream truck parked on the corner knowing hundreds of people were going to line up for Chick Fil A sandwiches.turn up.

Guess the ice cream driver dislikes Mayor DeBlob, too.

Even if it is not on the menu, you can get a peach milkshake.

I can’t even begin to describe how good it is. Like Heaven.

Dear Mayor DeBlasio,

What about all those intolerant Halal & Kosher restaurants & delis which refuse to serve me a BLT sandwich? Or BBQ ribs... say, isn’t BBQ supposed to be a Native American invention. “RACISTS!”

Perhaps this freedom of association and freedom to choose your products & clientele is a good idea that needs to be applied to ALL NYC businesses.

I still remember the great Chik-Fil-et fiasco here in the South. After Chicago tried to ban the restaurant we had to wait 2-3 hrs to get a sandwich here in Georgia. People were laughing, singing hymns and having a great time!

Yep, remember Chick Fil A appreciation day, back when the liberals first targeted this company for destruction??? It backfired big time on the left. I bet the same thing is happening here.

We know there are lots of liberals in New York. But, how many of these liberals really subscribe to the leftist notion that you need to destroy those who are not sufficiently liberal enough to suit you????
