Gov. Nixon has 45 days to veto/sign the bill. He has not committed. I suspect a veto is coming. However, the vote was more than enough to override Gov's veto. If 3/4 of legislators call for special session, one can be convened in Sept. This was done last year over the RTW bill. Which ultimately failed.

Having listened to most of the debate (and watched some) yesterday, it was sad to watch virtually EVERY Black legislator voice his/her disapproval. Democrats one and all. Seems to be no independent thinking on their side of the aisle.

So the Sept. session isn’t already planned?

I would think that people stuck in areas where violence has happened such as Ferguson, would want the right to carry for self protection no matter what color they are.

You would think that these legislators would try to represent their constituents rather than toe the party line.

Just glad that the measure passed, and will probably soon be the law. As this continue to deteriorate, more and more people will need to be prepared for self defense. JMHO

We live in a rural area subdivision just outside the city limits of a small town. Most people don’t even lock their doors during the day, and everyone feels relatively safe, I think.

However, almost all also have rifles and/or pistols since hunting is a big thing here. Teachers and students have been known to miss a few days of school during deer season (also known as deer flu). Lots of freezers full of venison after the season is over.
