If she’s looking for sympathy, she won’t get it from me. My mom raised me, God bless her soul, all by herself. I'd say if a mom doesn't have times when she's feeling overwhelmed, she's probably not doing it right, so I can certainly find some sympathy.
I'm not sure how much of the charitable work is official duties and how much is stuff she wants to do but only if the people pay for it. (Socialist charity is always funded with other people's money.)
