Ben Carson--who the Washington Post called the both best and worst campaign surrogate of all time--revealed that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, among many others, is on Donald Trump's shortlist for potential running mates.
[...]He had just explained to the reporter riding along that he wanted no role in a Trump administration when news arrived of a new poll naming him as the best liked of a list of potential running mates. “Who else was on the list?” he asked quietly, maintaining his usual inscrutable calm. The most favorably regarded contenders after himself, he was told, were John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and Chris Christie. “Those are all people on our list,” he said. “Well, not you,” Candy reminded him sharply. That the Trump

“I don’t get the hysterical PDS™ of some conservatives.
It’s like they’ve actually bought into the left wing smears against Sarah Palin,”
I don’t think Conservatives are the problem. We need the fence-sitter, The Independents, That Dems who hate Hilary and who might crossover. We need them this time, and after the chop job that was done to her, Palin is a liability. But she’s a good choice for a cabinet position!
Yesterday, Carson was already trying to walk back his comments on the VP short list.
He said those were only examples of who might be on the list.

Same here. I stopped taking Sarah Palin seriously when it became clear that she was more interested in being a celebrity and showcasing her family on reality TV than she was in policy. Add to that her fingernails on a chalkboard voice that makes Hillary's shrill shrieking sound almost lyrical by comparison, and we're left with a walking punchline rather than a VP pick.
If it's a choice between Palin and Gingrich, I would take Newt without question. Newt Gingrich has his many negatives (not the least of which is an ego that makes Trump look like a model of humility), but Gingrich, unlike Palin, has a first-rate policy mind and unlike Trump knows how to work with members of Congress. He brings something to the table.
Susana Martinez
Sadly we have to take that into account.
I love Sarah Palin, but, she has baggage because the liberals and the media piled on so severely.
So, what should we say? Should we say we don’t want Sarah Palin considered because the liberals have assigned her all this baggage???? I don’t have an answer but think it is a question worth asking. Because if any VP choice or any Pres. candidate for that matter, would have to pass muster with the liberals, who would we have as party leaders and nominees of the Republican party???
Cheney was damaged goods(his ticker). He came out fine. If Trump is a one termer an up and comer would be best. My idea is Brownback. Cruz? The Pied Piper of conservatism. 4 years of campaigning from the VP office.
Trump is not stupid
I’m skeptical. She could bring much to any of several cabinet positions, but woould bring too many propaganda impediments as VP, and pull nothing in that Trump does not already have. I would LOVE to see her in a high profile and significant cabinet position, both to rehab her slandered record and to make enemies heads explode, Mitt Romney not least among them.
I hope not. Used to like her but no more. She is very polarizing.
I agree. I think any names being dangled now are misdirection and provocation.
From what I’ve seen the short list is made up of everyone (and only everyone, except for Newt) who has run for President or VP in the last two cycles.
Or did Newt run in ‘08?
Until Trump, himself, stands at a mic and says “My VP pick is ___”, none of the supposed lists mean anything.
Leaks are likely trial balloons by special interests in an attempt to influence. Nothing more.
Yes perhaps the department of snow machine safety
Agree. He’s got a long time to play around, grab some headlines and enjoy the attention. IMHO, Palin isn’t even being considered.
I’d like to see Newt as Sec’y of State. I think he’ll clean up Foggy Bottom nicely.
False flag...
Palin is a wonderful conservative and patriot....
Her husband is seriously injured, her daughters are a wreck, the progressive left has successful libeled, demonized, smeared, marginalized her to the point her name is a byword for a joke...
The Trump campaign is simply poking the media in the eye...
As long as it’s a minority he panders to, I don’t care who he chooses! /sarc
ONLY if she were ready, willing, and able to be the President in eight years who spearheads taking down 80% of the mostly unconstitutional $4 trillion central government.
Exactly! Do we respond to Alinsky's ridicule and say, "Yeah, you're right, she's damaged goods." To hell with that! Don't give the left and MSM that power. Rebel! Do the opposite. Alinsky back at em'!
