Close the VA...fire all workers...sell the properties...provide regular health insurance to Vets. Many in the VA despise the Vets. They still murder Vets through neglect.
Yeah, here’s the money quote in the article:
“VA facilities are largely old and in need of repair. According to an independent assessment prepared for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs last year, the average VA hospital building is 50 years old, which is five times as old as the average not-for-profit hospital building in the country.”
I have advocated closing shop on VA for years. Give our vets a voucher, let them select hospital and doctor. Don’t need to make it open-ended, voucher good for X dollars.
I am not a vet, but for several years before he died, I ferried a friend of mine back and forth. The caregivers, those who spoke understandable English, seemed to try, but the facilities were crap.
