I think one of the things....among many..... that stopped her cold was the incessant videos, aired over and over again, of a smiling, upbeat, effervescent Hillary at the podium.

She would not allow her comments to be aired.....just herself, happy, smiling, upbeat, rifling thru her notes at the podium.

She must have felt being a popular speaker would advance her political ambitions.

Americans later found she was getting huge speaking fees for speaking a few words she would not even allow Americans to hear.

I like to think that I am typical of folks who resent the fact that the Clintons get away with too much, and have gotten away with too much for too long. So, I relish the thought of Hillary giving her concession speech in November, then returning to a hotel suite, featuring separate bedrooms, where she bludgeons Bill with a lamp. I mean, here they are, living this sham marriage, and she is set to get her perceived payoff for staying with him throughout all the indignities, and...oops!...she didn't quite make it. That will be one sweet comeuppance.

As matter of alternate history, just think about what it would have been like if G.H.W. Bush had been on his game and had really pursued reelection in 1992. He wins, Bill Clinton loses, and he and Hillary go back to AR and are never heard from again. How the world would have been better rid of these folks!
