Consensus as a decision-making policy is highly overrated.

Consensus, in and of itself, is neither good nor bad, but it may be used to compel some very bad policy on otherwise rational people.

Perhaps but "groupthink" exists everywhere and anywhere including this site. There are lots of sheep that will adapt their views to that of the loudest of the group so they feel they can fit in. Nothing new.
