Mrs BN & I were in Jo-burg in 1980. Skyscrapers, expressways, clean, modern (in some ways more modern than Atlanta, which we were familiar.) Blacks & whites working together, eating in restaurants together.

Sure, there was apartheid, but Soweto was so different than the news media portrayed it. We had “tea” with the black man who was in the same job in South Africa as my wife was in Kenya.

Hopefully, South Africa will not pull an “Idi Amin”, run off all the “Asians” (Indians) and totally destroy the economy. Hopefully.

Another story you don’t hear is that they have a lot of anti-immigrant riots in South Africa because folks from all over the continent and literally dying to enter South Africa, because their economy is still light-years ahead of the rest of the continent.

If they do, don’t worry...China will be by shortly after to invade, conquer, and colonize the continent. Nobody will stop them and you can bet the bank the UN will turn the blind eye to the abuse and genocide.
