So glad that they’ve gotten everything else under control at the VA that they can put off life saving treatment and can now focus on vanity mutilations.

If the above statement isn’t true, it’s time to start putting people in Leavenworth until either such ludicrous policies are abandoned as not the VA’s problem, or the problems resolved so they do have time for vanity mutilations.

Let the retards work and pay for their own cosmetic crap. How stupid can the VA be?

The barbaric mutilation surgery should be banned by the medical profession itself.

Most of these people will not get the genital surgeries.

What will be funded is breast implants
Adams apple peeling
Medications for feminization
Some facial plastics

For women who want to look like men
there will be breast removals
medications for masculinization

Of course they have to offer this surgery
Not to would get the wrath of the press and the leftists nationwide.

Why does the govt attempt to solve problems affecting a small number of people before it tackles the problems of the majority? How many transgender VA recipients can there be? If THEY wait in line long enough maybe they will change their minds...

VA proposes covering surgeries for transgender vets

Probably because they'll suicide over their craziness before they get around to getting cancer or some other expensive, extended illness.

This is similar to the Pentagon paying for boob jobs during the Iraq War when our guys were scrambling to acquire body armor and armored Hummers. I have to stop asking myself what’s next, because it’s something crazier every day with the VA and the Pentagon.

I would say great but only if they send em to John Hopkins

For those that don't understand this comment: Johns Hopkins no longer performs sex reassignment surgery.

Precisely. They treat the underlying mental illness

I vote no. And most veterans I know would say no.

And guess what? The Congress should say NO.

And then make them wait 5 years for the surgery.

The Australian military has had this policy for some time. One consequence, is that transgender people then join the services, in order to have all the medical procedures for free. The cost is enormous.

Potentially, this would also weaken the defense of the nation.

it’s body dysmorphia. Some people go to S America to get legs and arms removed. Doctors won’t do it here. It’s illegal, but not o get your #### chopped off.

one prison doctor said of a patient who wanted it chopped off, that he has body dysmorphia so he HAS to get it chopped off.

NOBODY came back with the argument, well what about legs and arms.

Welcome to the Twilight Zone, also known as the ObamaLand. Soon the same thing will be offered on active duty. The new recruiting slogan will be “be whatever you want to be, join the Army now for free sex change. In today’s new Army you can change from a man to woman, a woman to a man, a man to a German Sheppard dog. Due to the shortages of qualified dogs, you can now be a trans-German Sheppard”!!
