Not that hard to get a gun, but a CCW permit requires making an appointment at the county office, filling out a bunch of forms, a background check, a mug shot and fingerprinting. They mail the permit after a few weeks. It’s not free either. I think it was around $60.
That isn’t quite true. In Florida, you have to attend and pass a CCW class, pay a fee, and undergo a background check, before you can get a concealed weapons license.
