Well of course, the shooter died in the assault, and Obama wants commemorate the heroism.
I feel awful for the victims and their families, for the town/city of Orlando, and all the people who have to deal with the horror perpetrated by this terrorist; but flag at half staff strikes me as a move aimed to deflect attention. Wait for him to do 100 other small things, wrong, to take attention off the big things.

He was probably an hour late because they were having a hard time getting to realize that he had to at LEAST say "terrorist act" - and I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts he had to be forced to lower the flags -
