Obama unleashes on GOP critics over 'radical Islam' term

After years of brushing off criticism for avoiding the term “radical Islam,” President Obama fired a point-blank broadside Tuesday at his critics, calling the debate a “political distraction” that will do nothing to combat terrorism.

Speaking from the White House during what was expected to be an update for the public on the fight against the Islamic State, Obama lit into his critics and specifically presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. Their criticism has mounted in the wake of the Orlando terror attack, which Obama declined to publicly link to radical Islam.

“Calling a threat by a different name does not make it go away. … There’s no magic to the phrase of radical Islam,” Obama countered Tuesday. “It’s a political talking point.”

The president faced swift pushback from Republicans on Capitol Hill.

“With all due respect Mr. President, you’re wrong," Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., said in a statement. "Telling the truth about violent Islam is a prerequisite to a strategy – a strategy you admitted you don’t have. It is the Commander-in-Chief’s duty to actually identify our enemies and to help the American people understand the challenge of violent Islam.”

Obama shows more outrage over Trump than the second largest terrorist attack on civilians on our soil.

You could see the smoke coming out of his ears. Being forced to utter the words “Radical Islam”. Wow, so telling . . .

Trump did not say all immigrants from Muslim countries. He said a temporary hold on countries that are from countries that support radical terrorism until we get a hold on the situation. Trump said we need to vet immigrants. Obama is twisting his words and leaving out key words “Radical”

Obama is dead wrong. For a guy who once spoke about people ‘clinging to their Bibles and their guns, that he won't address the clear problem with radical Islam is indicative of his basal reflexive defense of all things not traditionally American.

No leadership from Obama.

He’s a one trick pony.

All he knows how to do is argue.

A lawyer arguing when we need a leader leading.

Exactly. He has no problem segregating a group of people by branding them when they don’t fit his narrative.

He’s opened this up, just like Cosby did when he asked people to mime him or whatever.

I think he’s going to get an ear full, and the press will hit Hillary with it too.

Every loyal republican should respond to this. We’ll see what a@@hat Romney has to say.

Q: “What exactly would using this label would accomplish?”

A: Properly naming and identifying your enemy so you can defeat him.

Q: “Someone seriously thinks that we don’t know who we are fighting?”

A: Yes. Me. You always frame the enemy as some amorphous group that could include ME because I am CONSERVATIVE.

I get it. 0bama treats CONSERVATIVES as the enemy and refuses to name radical islam as the enemy because he hates us MORE!

EXCERPT;

Hijrah, or jihad by emigration, is, according to Islamic tradition, the migration or journey of Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to Yathrib, later renamed by him to Medina, in the year 622 CE. It was after the hijrah that Muhammad for the first time became not just a preacher of religious ideas, but a political and military leader. That was what occasioned his new “revelations” exhorting his followers to commit violence against unbelievers. Significantly, the Islamic calendar counts the hijrah, not Muhammad’s birth or the occasion of his first “revelation,” as the beginning of Islam, implying that Islam is not fully itself without a political and military component.

To emigrate in the cause of Allah – that is, to move to a new land in order to bring Islam there, is considered in Islam to be a highly meritorious act. “And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many locations and abundance,” says the Qur’an. “And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him, his reward has already become incumbent upon Allah. And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.” (4:100) The exalted status of such emigrants led a British jihad group that won notoriety (and a shutdown by the government) a few years ago for celebrating 9/11 to call itself Al-Muhajiroun: The Emigrants.

And now a hijrah of a much greater magnitude is upon us. Evidence that this is a hijrah, not simply a humanitarian crisis, came last February, but was little noted at the time and almost immediately forgotten. The Islamic State published a document entitled, “Libya: The Strategic Gateway for the Islamic State.” Gateway into Europe, that is: the document exhorted Muslims to go to Libya and cross from there as refugees into Europe. This document tells would-be jihadis that weapons from Gaddafi’s arsenal are plentiful and easy to obtain in Libya – and that the country “has a long coast and looks upon the southern Crusader states, which can be reached with ease by even a rudimentary boat.”

I found it really interesting that the recent article regarding the 911 call from Orlando was referred to “ISIL” not “ISIS”. I don’t know if the editor wrote that or the ‘killer’ actually said ISIL. But, it stuck out as a big ?? to me.

But the Washington Post says that the GOP agrees with them that Trummp’s speech against Hillary failed miserably....

This bastard president is getting all the tv and radio time he wants to campaign against Trump and the Washington Post’s vendetta against Trump has ruined any credibility they may have had. They are even worse than the NYT.

I agree that Ryan has to go at the first opportunity.
