Same as in the old Soviet era Russia and eastern Europe. Venuzuelans are living in a real Orwellian hell.
This is the future America’s Friends of the Revolution envision for themselves.
Ah, state of affairs and the affairs of state coming to a country club near you -— the now Bernified Democrat (Uniparty) Party!
Man! Venezuela sounds ripe for a REAL Revolution. I mean one that will make the French Revolution look like a Sunday School Ice Cream Social. Those wealthy folks best enjoy their lobster now...
A “let them eat cake” attitude. We all know where the last person to express that attitude ended up.
But Socialism is about egalitarianism! How could this possibly happen?! I guess the right people just weren’t in charge.
Sounds like they’ve achieved “full communism” (a term used by elites in the USSR to describe a period when all would be rich)
Maduro might want to take a glance at a photo of Mussolini’s final moments and ponder deeply...
What? I thought Socialism takes from the rich and gives to the poor. At least, that’s what Obozo is doing. You mean some of the leaders in Venezuela aren’t following the script?
Sounds like Obama’s vision for America.
Maybe there’s a second career for the jug eared Muslim down in Caracas.
For now. They are ripe for a revolution.
Venezuela has problems, there's no doubt. 100% self-inflicted.
But there are an awful lot of well-fed looking, "starving" people in those pictures. Reminded me of the media hysteria following Katrina, with 300lb welfare cases chanting "Help Us! Help Us!" into the news cameras .....because they missed lunch.
With this article, I think that it's more instructional to watch what the opportunists do - and how the media reacts to them - when society goes to hell in a handbasket.
Potentially coming soon, to a theater near you.
This is the plan Hillary and her billionaire contributors have for the USA.
You have been warned.
Just like our Limousine Liberals in d.c.!
How ... Hobbesian.
"Socialist Dream." That's the problem, lady. You had a bad dream.
Some pigs are more equal than others.
The existence of a system of naked aristocratic privilege and court society is not a contradiction of the principles of socialism but their natural outgrowth. It follows directly from socialism's fundamental moral and political premise, which is that the individual does not exist as an end in himself but as means to the ends or "society." Since the ends of society is the ends of the rulers, the individual is the means to the ends of the rulers.
Same with the Mexican elite and the cartel scum. My Mexican tenants had a party for their little daughter's eighth birthday the other evening and they invited us over for beer and cake. After the kids went to bed I had a long discussion with him and several of his friends and cousins about the situation in Mexico. They'd love to take back the country, but are in no better position to do so than the Venezuelans. But they do have somewhere to flee to (here!) where the Venezuelans lack that option. So rebellion there is much more likely than in Mexico.
And the additional problem is that such revolutions frequently end up with communists in control rather than a freedom based leadership.
