Polls show close to 90% of Americans including over 80% of Republicans do not support people on the terror watch list buying guns. It’s a no brainer politically to work out some agreement that stops people on the list from buying guns while also giving the people an expedited due process if they are on the list by error.

Trump is ahead of the curve here. Republicans will get slaughtered on this issue.

First things first.

This man was not on the terror watch list.

I don’t support people who should be on a terror watch list not being on a terror watch list.

No point in such a list when muslim terrorists aren’t on it.

Establish a law that people on the terror watch list cannot buy guns and by the middle of the following week every registered Republican in the US will be on the terror watch list.

Trump went to the NRA to educate himself on why the NRA opposed prohibiting citizens on the terror watch list. I’m sure they told him about the lack of transparency and due process.

He could have gone to the anti-gun Democrats and would have gotten a lot of half truths and lies.

Who controls the list?

By a keystroke, all gun rights could be suspended by putting everyone on the watchlist.

That might be true but we need to trade that for due process on the watch list. The other problem with the proposed legislation that the Dems currently propose is that they also want to ban private sales.

The stats you are spouting.....where did you get them? The lying media?

BS Statistics.

Get a clue; once someone gets on the list, it will be impossible to get off of. Steve Hayes got on one and he had a helluva time getting off; how do you think you or I would fare?

I am not giving up ANY of my rights because some islamist shouted allah Akbar and killed people.

F that and F any polls which say I should give up my RIGHTS.

Republicans won’t be slaughtered on the issue if they stick to what the Constitution calls for in this case: DUE PROCESS. Just because someone is on a government list doesn’t mean they should automatically forfeit a constitutional right. There needs to be arbitration by a neutral judge.

Yes, no principles, he goes with the polls, he will sell your rights for his success without any recourse.

He makes this list the gun ban list, you will all find your names on it soon enough.
