At least 8 Syrian refugees killed by Turkish border guards

Eight displaced Syrians, including four children, were killed by Turkish border guards while trying to flee their war-torn country Sunday morning, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The National Coalition umbrella opposition group - based in Istanbul and backed by Turkey - gave a higher toll of 11 killed and condemned the "terrible tragedy."

Turkey has repeatedly denied accusations of its security forces firing on Syrians trying to cross the frontier, which has been closed for several months.

But the Observatory has recorded numerous incidents this year, and said Sunday's toll was among the highest.

The Britain-based Observatory said the group of eight had been displaced by fighting around the northern Syrian town of Manbij, held by the Islamic State group and under attack by US-backed forces.

They fled northwest towards Idlib province and the border, but were killed "when Turkish border guards opened fire on them as they tried to cross into Turkey," said the Observatory.

It said that four of those killed were children, adding that eight people were wounded, some of them critically.

Jive Turkeys. Lucky the guards weren't Israeli, or the MSM would give a crap.

Whenever there was a war involving the Turks, NO ONE ever, ever wanted to be captured by the Turks. They DON’T mess around.

Of course nobody will condemn Turkey, but if were any other European country, everyone would be calling to boycott them.

Of course not. They're — you know — Muslim. They'll cut your head off, blow you up. Leftists won't emit so much as a peep in protest.

Those refugees were either Christians or Yazidis. The sunni terrorist refugees are allowed right through and registered in the US Consulate.

Must not have been ISIS. The Turks would have given them a helping hand.

Shooting them is the only way to get their attention. The samo on the US southern border. Shooting a few combined with obvious beefing up the armed presence on the border will cut the flood almost as well as a wall would. Building the wall with armed watchtowers and roving armed drones will acomplish an almost complete seal with far fewer total deaths than the present system allows. No more starvation in the desert if they stop trying to cross.

It said that four of those killed were children

Two possibilities: (1) The "children" were males age 17-20, and they were a genuine threat, or (2) the children were Christian and no one in the Islamic world cares that they were killed.
