No. The Convention has not occurred. The Republican candidate is not official. I will vote for the Republican but that doesn’t have to mean Trump.
I vote for conservatives.
“I vote for conservatives.”
Let me try to follow your thinking here, AppyPappy, if you will try to set aside your animus towards Trump for a couple minutes.
Trump is the presumptive nominee. Against all expectations he beat, what, 16 others? including Cruz.
When Jeb, Mitt & Co. stopped laughing (”He’ll never get anywhere.”) and Trump started winning primaries, they insisted he sign an oath, like all the rest of the remaining candidates.
Then it was, “He’ll never get to 1,237.” The RNC and the rest recited that like a mantra. Then when Trump came out on top, the also-rans broke their oaths. The worst nightmare of the GOP establishment came to pass. Trump won, you know?
“The Convention has not occurred. The Republican candidate is not official.”
Now that Trump has in excess of 1,237 [1.500 (?)] FRiends like you come out of the weeds to snipe, leaving unsaid, “Maybe my `true-blue’ conservative Ted Cruz can still take the nomination at the convention!”
Cruz couldn’t beat Trump over the last several months and in dozens of primaries; in any event, keep in mind that it is possible that a convention putsch by GOP-terds (no offense) might give us designated looser Jeb Bush. They don’t want Cruz.
So what’s the latest condition you would mandate that Trump must meet in order to prevail and win your support? That he strip to the waist and personally force each bitter Cruz hold-out to tap-out in a UFC octagon on the floor of the convention?
Have you enjoyed the last eight years? Why are you so determined to lose?
PS
Oh yeah, and thanks for calling those of us who would like to deny Hillary Clinton’s dream of grinding the country under her cankles “Trump supporters” and not `Trumpettes, Trumpkins, Trumpsters, Trumpeteers’ and all the other clever bon mots.
If there’s a convention coup, the Republican Party dies.
