Trump shrugs off campaign money woes
POLUTICO ^ | June 21, 2016 | Louis Nelson

Donald Trump’s campaign money problems aren’t problems at all, the presumptive Republican nominee said Tuesday morning.

The billionaire real estate mogul kicked off the month of June with just $1.3 million in his campaign account, a fraction of the $42 million Hillary Clinton had on hand. But that financial gulf between the two campaigns did not appear to worry Trump though during an appearance on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” Tuesday morning.

“We want to keep it lean. I'm not looking to spend all this money. You know, I hear people spend a billion dollars. I’m saying, how do you spend a billion dollars? It's impossible. Politicians are the only ones who can spend a billion dollars,”

He's right...only politicians could or would spend that kind of money for a job that pays about 400k. Especially since they're spending other people's money.

Why would anyone spend $millions to get a job that pays $174,000 per year, plus benefits. Those must be some mighty expensive benefits.

Where else can a middle class guy work at a job for a couple of years and then leave that job worth millions with a lifetime pension?

I got an email from “Team Trump” asking for money. Does anyone know who this is? I don’t trust SuperPacs.

I am only sending money via his own website.

Thank you! We are seeing an all-out onslaught of negative ads, and 100% negative media, and this will continue. The only way to counter this is with donations to get the message out around the media with rallies, ads, and voter outreach to those who have never voted—we will need them!
Please all, contribute.

It is the “other people’s money” that has been the prime moving force in gaining high political office today.

Graft and corruption still rule. It is just a little more sophisticated than it used to be.

Self-funded political careers is mostly a fairly rare concept in today’s market. Most of the “political reformers” of years past carried their campaigns on a shoestring. And did not get so very far, but they acted as a “steering committee” on policy, sometimes for years. Once the idea got out there, there were always partisans with money to take up the cause.

The ads thus far produced by Hillary's campaign are really really bad

Amateurish bloviating , half truths at best and outright dishonesty for the most part. and obvious attempts at emotion, not issues ( where she has no standing)

Or when she does try to touch on issues it ends up recruiting for Trump

Trump, people on the other hand have produced some brilliant short ads aired on social media- they need to,go viral and national but it is too early
He hasn't yet gained the nomination
I just wish the RINOs would shut up and slither away
They are killing any semblance of a large groundswell of support for republicans across the board

Does anyone realize just how big Trump support is? If you don't then you need to find out...

If each of Trump Supporters would put into his account one hundred dollars, by the end of the day there would be over a BILLION dollars...

And this pissy ant media twit writing this ‘news’ article says he's worried about money? ROFLMAO!!! You have got to be on drugs, insane or have your head up someone else’s behind!!!

Mr. Trump. Your money would be well spent if you were to hire a plumber to find and repair the number of leaks seen of late. These leaks continue to deplete the water being carried to and fro. You must have many names of very professional men and women, being in your profession Once halted, we will then be able to contain and proceed to chill for a time. The drips are a distraction to those who have a mission to accomplish.

Just a reminder:
As of mid May Sanders and Clinton had spent about $135 Million, Bush, Rubio, Cruz and Kaisch spent about $193 Million. TRUMP SPENT only $18.5 Million.

I got an email from “Team Trump” asking for money. Does anyone know who this is? I don’t trust SuperPacs.

Those emails are not coming from the Trump campaign. Remember that PACs cannot associate with candidates, so there is nothing Trump can do to stop it (PACs raising money in his name). I would treat that email like any other SPAM email and just delete it.

Trump won the nomination on a fraction of the money the other candidates spent. I believe he will run the general election the same way - maybe spending 1/10th the amount of Crooked Hillary.

It's the best advertisement for his candidacy that I can think of. If he runs his campaign lean and mean like this while getting results, imagine what he can do when he gets into the White House. We need that kind of attitude.

Trump reminds me in many ways of Harry Truman. Truman was also very careful about spending money and hated government corruption and waste. I think he slept in his car while campaigning so he didn't have to spend $5 on a hotel room (when he was running for senate). I know Trump won't go to that extreme but he's got the same kind of mentality. I remember a couple months ago, Trump stayed at a Marriott Courtyard or some such place on the campaign trail. As it was campaign money, he wasn't going to be frivolous with it.
