Another reason Ryan is against Mr. Trump is because if the Donald wins, he (Speaker Ryan) will be completely subsumed by the president. He will be absorbed by the president. He will be overshadowed by the president. He will be emasculated by the president. He will be dehydrated by the president.

His ego couldn't take this. His future ambitions couldn't take this.

He would become unimportant and unnoticed, useful to the whole country only as a boring mechanic, operating the tedious daily machinery of the House.....and he would really only be noticed glowering at President Trump while sitting way up in the Speaker's chair during special occasions like the State of the Union speech.
