NBC's Steve Kornacki: Amazing How Thin Clinton/Trump Margin Is, Despite Trump's Problems
Real Clear Politics ^ | 06/22/2016 | Tim Hains

MSNBC host Steve Kornacki discusses the latest 2016 election polls showing Clinton and Trump in a dead heat in several key battleground states with the hosts of NBC's Today Show:

"It’s amazing," Kornacki said. "If you take the 2012 electoral map: Obama versus Romney, and kept it the same... If you can flip Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida, you’re the next president. For all of the trouble [Trump has] had, you’ve got them dead even in Ohio and Pennsylvania. [Polls showing him down in] Florida is bad news for him."

"[We just saw several] great weeks for Hillary Clinton, terrible weeks for Donald Trump -- and they look at those polls in those states, how do they explain that?"

"The poll on the economy, Hillary Clinton gave that speech yesterday, the subject is the economy, she’s trying to discredit Trump on the economy," Kornacki said. "And you look up and see that poll saying --on who do you trust more on the economy-- Trump leading Clinton by eight points. They’re aware of the challenge. That’s where the speeches like you saw yesterday from Hillary Clinton are coming from."

Trump’s problems???????? I do not believe it is Trump that has the ‘problems’ and if this media twit doesn’t realize that, he needs to go to his ‘safe place’ with the rest of the ‘snowflakes’....

LOL. Its funny to see liberal media types trying to understand the polls.

First of all, the media decided that Trump has had a bad two weeks. What was bad about this time oPeriod?? The media decided he had a bad stretch there.

Then, having decided that Trump had a bad two weeks, they then go on to expect that he should be sinking in the polls. But he’s not been sinking. These over educated liberal news hounds just can’t figure this out.

Should have said, it’s amazing how close the race is, despite Clinton’s corruption.

Horrendous, myopic spin by a MSM hack. Supporting Hillary is tantamount to treason and abetting a (not yet convicted) felon.

Wow.

Nice summary.

I have to agree with that. But Trump really needs to up his game to win. Right now he’s 8 pts behind in Florida and Florida is a must win.

Trump is back in top form today.

The MSM is being forced to talk about nothing but Hilary’s ethical problems, corruption, rent-seeking and being a self-interested politician for at least the next news cycle.

Trump is on the offensive and that’s exactly where he wants to be.

No.

Amazing is that chimps that call themselves journalists actually think their BS still has power over the public.

The media has been anti-Trump from day one.

And against Hillary....not a damn word.

Probably why Trump isn't publishing ads...why bother...it's just fodder for her.

His rallies are the best ads there are.

People just hate the media.

They basically make themselves seem all-important.

They aren’t.

True. Of all the battleground states Florida is the biggest and most important.

Its hard to see Trump win the election without carrying Florida. Just looking at the map of other battleground states, threading that needle becomes very tough if Hillary keeps Florida in the Democrat column.

You would think so, but instead they are talking about Trump's reference to a "discredited" book. Of course, the book was only discredited by the talking head libs. They refuse to believe the truth & are diverting the conversation to focus on the book.

Exactly!

What about Hillary’s problems, NBC?

She has more baggage than the luggage carousels at Los Angeles International Airport.

In the poll that counts, in November, Trump will need a ten point advantage to overcome vote fraud.

There is still too much undecided to know comfortably how close it really is. Even in that Pennsylvania poll third party candidates Gary Johnson and Jill Stein came out with a combined 10 percent. Trump just needs to keep walking forward without major steps back like we have been seeing.
