I always felt he was not a pro-gun supporter. He is a nice guy, but not fit for any position in government.
I consider him an excellent example of the innate defectiveness of being smart if not genius on one area and thinking that it translates matter-of-factly into another area. This is a fundamental fault of human nature, but it is the pinnacle tenet of liberalism; if you are a distinguished graduate in women’s cis-transgender studies, this automatically makes you an expert both on firearms and fiscal policy.
