Maybe sorta, but the geography is all different.

A wall works across the skinny part of the island.

Federal troops were the ones that organized that result, not Virginians.

Good analogy. I think there was a clause in the last referendum where Britain’s recent successful vote to exit qualifies as enough of a material change in circumstances justifying Scotland to have another referendum.
