We need the court. We can win all the downticket races we want at state level, but they won’t do a damn bit of good if Anthony Kennedy and his fellow libs are there, waiting to quash any decent laws we pass. As soon as our laws go into effect, liberals sue and we go through this process.
I’m getting tired of it. If Trump wins, hope stays alive. If Trump loses, Hillary names Scalia’s replacement and we’re done for a long time.

If the Beast wins, oh there will still be rallying cries of "this election is vitally important", but "it" (meaning the fight for our individual liberties and freedom) will be over for all intents and purposes. I'll be done paying the "this is the most important election in our nations history" meme any heed.
It's most likely a done deal now, because even if Trump is elected I don't see how much he can do realistically. But there's still hope as you said.

During the 2012 Republican presidential debates, Newt Gingrich brought up the possibility of restricting the Supreme Court at least on a few issues. At what does there have to be a serious discussion of reigning an out-of-control SCOTUS in?
I doubt Trump will do anything to stop or slow abortion. Has he said anything today yet on this ruling?
