I don’t care how it’s spun. The name should be in the report. Those two Marines fought heroically—beyond heroically—for eight hours. Someone in a position of safety and comfort made certain that battle would end with their deaths; no one can hold out forever. The least, the VERY least, Gowdy owed those Marines, their families and the American people is the name of the person whose order resulted in their deaths.
As has been noted by sources with direct experience, the president must take positive steps to enable military assets to cross foreign borders. Inaction is enough to prevent a response.
