Poland to push for 'radical' new EU treaty
EU Observer ^ | 28 June 2016 | Andrew Rettman

The EU should have a new treaty that shifts power from the European Commission to EU states .. Poland has indicated ahead of Tuesday’s (28 June) summit.

...Speaking the same day in an interview with the Rzeczpospolita daily, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the powerful head of the ruling Law and Justice party (PiS), said mounting euroscepticism in countries such as France and the Netherlands showed that “the vision of the EU forced upon us by the Lisbon Treaty has failed”.

He said “member states should have more sovereignty inside the union … we have to maintain a Europe of nation states that cooperate with each other, ideally creating a confederation”.

He said “the bureaucratic pressure from Brussels [the commission] should be weakened” and that its role should be limited to regulating the single market.

He also said the European Parliament “should be composed of representatives of national parliaments”.

He said the EU should at the same time strive to become a “superpower”, with a European Council president who would command an EU “army” and take charge of a more robust foreign policy toward China, Russia and the US.

...He warned that deeper integration of eurozone states would be equally divisive, but that if Poland were to adopt the euro in current conditions it would create an “economic catastrophe” in the country.

ideally creating a confederation”...

In other words, instead of the direct path to tyranny, take the USA route to tyranny.

Articles of Confederation, leading to a federal-state Constitution, leading to slow transfer of power from states to "federal", leading to a morhphing of the federal to national, the fading away over years of the states, to arrive at the same place. Like in America, formerly referred to as the "united states".

No wonder these countries are in so much trouble. This guy says some good things about preserving national identity. Then he advocates handing over the Polish Army to Germany. That's Germany, who will take those swarms of maniacs flooding Europe and put them in their new army to fight for the motherland.

And those countries? They won't have their armies anymore to defend them.

With the US under Obama an unreliable ally and NATO in disrepair, the Poles must of necessity look to the EU for support against Russia. I doubt that the Poles expect the EU to ever be a superpower, but they do hope to get something tangible in return for their loyalty to the EU.

This guy still makes more sense than anyone else out there.

But mark my words: In the end, the Warsaw Pact (i.e., Russia and Eastern Europe) will re-form - but this time it will be the Europeans begging to join Russia - there simply is nothing but demise going down in the West and they see that clear as day, with the migrant invasion just being the latest.

but this time it will be the Europeans begging to join Russia -- rot. If you ever visited Central Europe you'll see NO ONE except the Serbs, Montenegrans who have that feeling. Every one else doses not like the Russians and have no intention to get in Russia's grasp again.

What they want to do is set up Miedzymorze

There was a time when Russian tsars knelt before the throne of the twin kingdoms if Poland/Lithuania.
