The marine that just spoke, gave the press the “what for” when Trump had his presser regarding the veteran’s charity drive, and where Trump disclosed the disbursements. The marine is a state representative, but I don’t remember for which state, and he is also a top officer in one of the veteran’s charities that received funds out of the Trump fundraiser.

Also “in the rear with the gear” is a description of noncombat troops, performing service and support for the front lines, from back in the rear. They are held in contempt by the combat troops because there are 9 rear echelon troops for every 1 front line troop, and often times they raid the goodies that are meant for the front line troops, as they are the ones responsible for distributing the goodies to the combat troops.

They are also referred to as being “in the rear with the beer.”

Finally- there is a pejorative that combat troops use to describe the troops in the rear... REMF’s. (wincing)
