I may have told this story out here in the past, so I’ll give the condensed version: I confronted Newt at a private meeting of republicans in the mid-90s & suggested he start addressing cultural issues: abortion, immigration & Affirmative Action like he promised the base that he would. He took offence to this, and suggested it would be addressed. I retorted that there had been zero movement on these issue. He got red in the face & told me to go F myself. I told him the same.....and said to the rest of the people at the meeting that this shows that nothing is going to chance in D.C. <<
Yikes! And I thought my face-to-face meeting with Newt in 2007 (when I was in Ames, Iowa for the straw poll and he told me to shut up if I wasn't there for a book signing, smile for the photo-op with him, get outta the way for the next person in line... and then his "handlers" tried to sell me the photo "commemorative" for $80) was bad.
